El Cambio Climático no se ha ido de vacaciones. Parece que desde la última Cumbre del Clima ya nadie habla de ello. Parece como si el problema se hubiera evaporado.
Pero nada de eso, seguimos igual o peor, puesto que el tiempo va pasando y no estamos tomando las medidas necesarias para frenarlo.
En la Revista Science cientos de científicos malifiestan su malestar ante la actitud que se está teniendo en ese respecto y el trato que se le está dando a compañeros que están tomando medidas para frenar el Cambio Climático.
Es una carta que deberíamos enseñar a los responsables de nuestros paises, empresas... para que no se olviden de que hay que seguir luchando para frenar lo inevitable.
Frases como las siguientes deben de quedar en nuestro recuerdo:
"There is compelling, comprehensive, and consistent objective evidence that humans are changing the climate in ways that threaten our societies and the ecosystems on which we depend."
"The planet is warming due to increased concentrations of heat-trapping gases in our atmosphere. A snowy winter in Washington does not alter this fact."
"Society has two choices: We can ignore the science and hide our heads in the sand and hope we are lucky, or we can act in the public interest to reduce the threat of global climate change quickly and substantively."
"The good news is that smart and effective actions are possible. But delay must not be an option."
